Pros

The benefits are amazing and the tools/tech the give employees are all the best. I love the tech we are given, from iPhones and Macs to the Google Suite of products we use. Additionally the benefits from medical to wellness and beyond are unbelievable.

Cons

The recent large number of activist investors that have gotten involved with SFDC has destroyed the culture. The environment has unfortunately become toxic and everyone is on pins and needles if they are going to be a part of the next round of layoffs. They have gone to a performance based model and if you do not meet expectations, you will get put on a performance plan designed to eliminate you in 90 days without severance etc. The stress levels have skyrocketed among employees. Additionally in an attempt to become the "most profitable" software company, SFDC has decided to eliminate almost all supporting roles. For instance, the sales role that I am in had support from 5 different people that were SMEs in their respective areas. All of the roles were eliminated and now the expectation is that the main sales role for that product needs to become the SME without any support. SFDC is also a very "woke" company. There is a huge push to advance certain types of people in the company based on a number of qualities and metrics that have nothing to do with the most skilled or most knowledgable person getting roles. Additionally, the OTE has been great at SFDC, but we are now getting quotas assigned to us that are anywhere from 1.5X to 3X what they were before. For others interested in working here, this is an important thing to consider if you are in a sales role. The base salary may look good, but if the quota say doubles, you have now gotten a 50% decrease in commissionable pay because you have to sell twice as much to make the same amount of money. Also SFDC doesn't pay you dollar for dollar on your commissions until you hit 80% of quota, which means they are keeping a large amount of money for themselves that never gets paid to reps.
