Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we are sorry to hear you did not have a positive experience during your time at Salesforce. We’re not perfect and don’t claim to be, but we do strive to be a place where employees can feel supported and confident in the organization and where it's headed. Your feedback is appreciated.

Pros

decent pay ok health benefits PTO

Cons

Salesforce is now a "Productivity" culture. This means you are being watched every second of every day and you could be next to be let go. Even if you are a high performer you are compared to everyone else and could still be let go

Pros

- Despite how much the company has gone downhill, it still has good name recognition for your resume - Even though our products have a lot of problems, we are still the number one CRM on the market by far. Very surprisingly, no competitor is a close second. - If you're planning to have a baby in the next year, it could be worth it to work here just for the parental leave policies, collect your money, then resign. But you can get this at any tech company so this isn't really a great reason!

Cons

Salesforce used to be a leader for it's commitment to social impact, corporate social responsibility, and putting people over profit. These values have completely disappeared in service to money and greed. The company took a huge turn for the worse at the start of 2023 when activist investors took over and they ended up laying off 10k people. A company that was once a leader in social impact (founder of the 1-1-1 model) and employee well-being (offered monthly wellness days) completely lost its way and became just like any other money hungry corporation. A few of the worst offenses: - Mandated 3-4 days per week in the office - Performance Improvement Plans are used as a cost-cutting measure to achieve a reduction in workforce without the need to pay employees severance. Employees are given unattainable KPIs, pitted against each other and set up for failure. - Promotions are rare. When they happen, they are political and inequitable. - Very few teams have leveling guides, so you have no idea what the scope of work or pay range should be for your job title and you have no sense of how well you're doing relative to the competencies required - Employees are evaluated based on their ability to "manage ambiguity" which is essentially giving the company a free pass to be chaotic and disorganized and victim-blaming anyone who won't tolerate it - Celebrity worship leads to mismanagement of money and unnecessary extravagance - Sub par training and support for early career and entry level talent - As many predicted, the heightened focus on racial justice during 2020 was short-lived - Years of poor headcount planning led to inflated salaries and redundant roles I could go on and on. Salesforce used to be my dream company. It has been disappointing to see such a huge shift. I absolutely would NOT recommend working here. Strongly reconsider if you're in the middle of an interview process.
