Pros

1. Very good work-life balance . WFH within limits. 2. Decent pay. 3. Corporate responsibility. Actively encourages employees to take part in volunteering events.

Cons

1. Title egos and titles don't generally match competency of engineers. There used to be a lot of good engineers, but that has dwindled significantly. 2. Lot of politics. Watch out! 3. Technical growth will be stunted. Be prepared work with a lot of incompetent senior engineers. 4. Too much marketing hype about the product, but the products don't live up to expectation.

Pros

Besides the obvious (pay and benefits) Salesforce is actually a pretty fun place to work. I can only speak for the sales side and working out of the SF office, I don't know much about the other orgs. Overall they do a great job hiring intelligent social people who will have fun while still working hard. The product is the best on the market and the technology for the most part blows competition out of the water. For me the best part about working at Salesforce has been the people / co-workers.

Cons

Salesforce has an interesting way of recognizing and measuring success, which is mostly driven by tooting your own horn. The practice of "building you brand" is more important to your career than doing intelligent and meaningful work. The company is driven by sales and this causes unrealistic expectations on both the sales side as well as product rollout. Many (but not all) of the low to mid level managers are either unqualified or strive too hard to please superiors. The company is more focused on showing and telling about how great it is than actually being great.

Pros

The compensation and benefits are great.

Cons

- We are told that trust is one of their corporate goals. That was not my experience! The amount of back stabbing at the leadership level where HR had to get involved was min blowing! This also cascaded down to the teams - During my first career conversation with my manager. He spent 25 minutes of a 30 minute mtg talking about how good he is. - My manager doubled my work load over night without asking if I had extra capacity. I set expectations that balls could drop due to being over allocated to which he said let’s see how it goes. Balls were dropped and I got dinged for it in my performance review!! - Senior exec’s played favorites and changed their minds daily and didn't care how this impacted the team - No team moral or fun was had!! - I was told that we are encourage to find new roles if the one you are in wasn’t a good fit. I did that and my manager wouldn’t let me leave…. I hate to say all the above in a public forum but whilst I was there I didn’t feel as if I had a voice and worried if I did express my concerns I would have been fired…
