Pros

This company is full of hard-working, passionate folks that really want to help pivot the commerce industry faster towards digital -- both 1P through retailers and D2C. The leadership walks a delicate line between setting the vision and making sure individuals can autonomously drive results with ample room to operate.

Cons

This company takes itself very seriously. People work very hard. That's not for everyone. There are definitely easier jobs out there. The company is responsive to the industry and therefore makes a lot of adjustments which can be uncomfortable for people looking for great consistency and stability in their responsibilities.

Pros

The community is amazing. People are really invested in the company and because it's a start-up, you still have a lot of that "everyone gets their hands dirty" attitude. The engineering team is top-notch (like, wow). The C-level leadership gets it (they're almost all former devs) and are accessible and transparent.

Cons

It's still trying to figure out what it wants to be. A PIM company (or a PXM one, as they call themselves) can only be so much, and as Salsify -- ESPECIALLY the Customer Success team -- grows, there are some significant growing pains as things are scaled. The CS leadership also seems to be trying to make the company (or maybe just their department?) much more corporate and stuffy. Don't expect higher CS leaders to actually understand what's going on. Bizarrely, Salsify also has kind of crappy base benefits (no 401(k) match, poor healthcare plan).

Hi there. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed working with our engineering and leadership teams at Salsify! We also sincerely appreciate your feedback regarding management. Management and leadership training is one of our large initiatives for 2020 and is an area we are actively working to improve. Our hope is that managers provide clarity on expectations and allow our teams the space to do their best work; having a fundamental understanding of the work being done on the ground level is an important part of that model. Thanks for sharing your experience - we use this feedback as an opportunity to improve and make sure our goals align with what our employees need. -Salsify's People Experience Team
