Pros

There are a LOT of great people that work here. The benefits are competitive for the area. It is easy to be excited about getting to save lives every day.

Cons

There are some negative attitudes that assume anybody that is successful must be a brown-noser or that an individual's failure to progress must be the fault of management (never mind the amount of negativity they spout everyday thinking management never hears it). There are some outdated processes that are a waste of time, but they never seem to actually go away.

Don't derail your career with this train wreck

Pros

There are still a few great people there but that won't last long if senior management/ownership stays on their current path.

Cons

Senior management in charge has no respect for employees or managers but requires respect from them. The culture is one of extreme micromanagement where the President spends most of the time snooping in people's email boxes and personal business outside of work than even attempting to solve the real business issues at hand. If an employee is not best friends with senior management/owners they won't be there long. The rules and policies are supposed to be made by employees but are dictated by the President and carried out by the President's sycophants. There are daily demonstrations of senior management's belief that they know more than anyone else. It is a common occurrence for employees and managers alike to be demeaned and belittled by senior management in front of groups of their co-workers. Business market strategy is determined by what new book has been read and how senior management twists the theory to fit their particular needs. It's all about putting money in the pockets of the President with no regard for the loyal employees and managers who work hard day in and day out just trying to make a living and keep their jobs. Senior management in charge only thinks about what they see, think, believe, need, understand. So much time is spent blaming mid-level management for the problems created and further exacerbated by senior management. The level of drama is equal to an episode of Empire. The level of distrust and game playing is equal to Game of Thrones. The customers aren't even treated with respect.

If you have been on the receiving end of such treatment, I am truly sorry. The success of any system is the product of all people involved in that system working together. It is a shame that you feel there is a different belief structure in place. There are no people who's opinions are more important than others, there are simply some people more willing to speak up. Your input on fixing the issues you see is welcome and necessary so please make suggestions on how to better the process. If your suggestions aren't heard, repeat them or restate them or say them to another manager. We all are a work in process and trying to be better everyday.

Pros

There are no longer any pros for this company.

Cons

The fact that the owner felt necessary to tell employees they needed to have permission from them to even be involved with a program outside of work; such as a music ministry at their church. Since when does a human being have to have permission to do anything when they are no longer on the clock. Also the changing of rules at the convenience of the owner, you can eat at your desk, then next month you can't. You can chew gum one day and the next not. This type of management isn't managing it is trying to control everything even the things that they have no right to control. They may have been the #1 in the industry but it is time for you to wake up you are no longer #1. That is sad because you have the opportunity but you threw it way because your mentality is anyone can be replaced. What you forgot is so can you and if you keep going in the direction you are going you won't have any one to control and that includes your company. You have lost many key people in your company and will continue to eventually you won't have enough work force to keep your company going and the only one to blame is the owner. What is sad is the owner is very smart and has the ability to bring the company to higher levels but not in the way you have done for the last several years. This is America a free county not a communist country with a dictatorship.

I hate that you felt this was best way to address your concerns. As I'm sure you are aware our policies are written by a group of volunteer employees and thus are also amended by the employees. We encourage all employees to make a difference in the world not simply be a spectator. Hopefully others who are bothered by a policy will choose to help improve it. If your feedback prompts that involvement then it is appreciated.
