      Pros

      Friendly environment, members are *generally* better than customers in most retail chains, benefits (insurance, stocks, etc) are much better than average with very low premiums, again, compared to other retailers, and with flexible hours it's a great place for a second income.

      Cons

      It's retail, so it'll be low wage unless you make salaried management; hourly management is a great jumping stone if you prove your worth; you will have to work weekends if you seek to move up; the company is downsizing because of poor decisions at Home Office and losing ground to Costco. Idiot Buyers make poor decisions - candy canes, anyone?

      Pros

      I work with people who really want to do well and serve the members. Many associates stay for a long time and are able to move up in the hourly rankings. Benefits remain competitive.

      Cons

      Average number of hours in a work week for management, but the company has not kept up with average rate of compensation for the retail industry. Fewer full time associates and this ratio continues to decline. Results are less associates qualifying for benefits and higher rates of turn over.
