Pros

All the pros you've read are true. Great perks, great product to sell, CEO is very humble.

Cons

PTO is a sham. No job security. Even if you do built trust with solid performance they have a short term memory there and treat you like a child. Sales leadership is asleep at the wheel. The leads you are given are also a joke. These people generally do not have linkedin and they certainly don't enjoy some kid from California calling them. Very weird market to prospect into.

Terrible Recruiting Operations Team Leadership

Pros

Great perks and benefits. You get the opportunity to work with some brilliant people.

Cons

The Recruiting Operations team’s leadership is the worst I have ever experienced. Not only does the leader not care about her team members on a personal level, she is demeaning, and will throw employees under the bus when things get tough. Leadership is not invested in the development of their employees. Instead of supporting their team members in growing and developing, they resort to saying "the gap in experience is too large to overcome” (even when you weren’t hired to do the role you are being evaluated on or had proper development to move into that role) and write you off as you are just not a fit for the role and force you out without providing goals or expectations you can successfully meet. The Recruiting Ops leader will raise her hand to be a "project sponsor” but not support their team members if the project gets complicated, take accountability, or step in to provide air cover if needed. When things are going well, the credit is taken, when things are bad you are the first to be thrown under the bus or told you’re not meeting expectations. It continues to happen time and time again.

Pros

I was hired two years ago. At that time the perks were great: free lunch, uber/lyft credits, snacks. The company was moving very quickly and there were some great projects due to trying to make sales happier. Two years ago the company was starting to realize it was no longer a lean, start up but projects went quickly and it was exciting. Today the company is a medium sized and no longer can things run as quickly, however, management hasn’t gotten that memo. They still think you can run a project quickly and have added layers and layers of bureaucracy. It’s time to slowdown, if you want things done correctly with all of the right stakeholders.

Cons

Things are moving too fast and the business can no longer take the risk of bugs or a stakeholder not being consulted. People are blaming others when they did something wrong, instead of owning the mistake, management isn’t interested in protecting their team members and titles and job duties are being changed without the employee being consulted. can no longer.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and share more about your experience at Samsara. In your two years at Samsara have probably seen a lot of change and helped us get to where we are as a company and we appreciate that. We really value your input and want to hear from our employees. We hope you can give this feedback to your manager, so we can try and make specific changes. If you don’t feel comfortable, I think Hootline is a great place for this as well as these go directly to department leaders. Thank you again for your contributions to Samsara.
