Pros

Samsara as a whole has an awesome culture. When I first started I felt really connected to everyone-- from the sales team to the engineering team. I saw a company about to explode with growth and joined with the promise of similar personal growth. The trust you feel from our CEO reinforces the idea that we're in this company together. Individual efforts are rewarded and feel substantial. This is the startup effect and it's strong at Samsara. Our support team at samsara is one of the hardest working teams I've ever experienced. Everyone is willing to take on new challenges and teach. Sure, the skill ceiling for technical ability in support isn't high but you'll have friends to help you reach those goals.

Cons

After an exciting ramp up process I began to realize the potential for growth in support was slim. The promises I had of 40% of my day on personal projects never materialized. Management either can't or won't support growth in their team. As someone with a growth mindset I'm not happy if I'm in the same role for years without any promise of growth or movement. Maybe you're the kind of person who's happy being cozy and comfortable. Maybe you're happy with the same familiar day to day tasks. In that case, Samsara support may be a good choice for you.

Pros

Good benefits Promotions (only if you don’t get fired first)

Cons

They promote feedback but then nothing changes. The micro managing is extreme. They want you to construct your day and close deals the way they prefer. No opportunity to do what works for you. The expectation is to rush through 50-75 pointless outbound calls for 9 hours without leaving your desk; not even for lunch. There are no work from home/leave early incentives even though the other segments offer these on a weekly basis. The quota is UNATTAINABLE. The most tenured reps are literally on PIPS and on their way out the door. Unlimited PTO is supposed to be a perk but literally they put you through hoops just to get one day off; forget about getting any days off if you aren’t trending to hit quota.

Pros

Great perks- unlimited PTO, catered lunch, fun young environment

Cons

Overall great company culture but very divided. One manager and team just completely ruined my experience at the company. She's incapable of delivering feedback without being downright mean, and most of the time she doesn't give you guidance. It's just, "nope - that's wrong do it again." Unclear instructions but expects you to be a mind reader. Shady mean girl type behavior and just overall very clear that she does not by any means know how to manage people. Sets a very toxic environment. There's very little room to feel like you can preform when management treats you so poorly.
