Pros
Samsara as a whole has an awesome culture. When I first started I felt really connected to everyone-- from the sales team to the engineering team. I saw a company about to explode with growth and joined with the promise of similar personal growth. The trust you feel from our CEO reinforces the idea that we're in this company together. Individual efforts are rewarded and feel substantial. This is the startup effect and it's strong at Samsara. Our support team at samsara is one of the hardest working teams I've ever experienced. Everyone is willing to take on new challenges and teach. Sure, the skill ceiling for technical ability in support isn't high but you'll have friends to help you reach those goals.
Cons
After an exciting ramp up process I began to realize the potential for growth in support was slim. The promises I had of 40% of my day on personal projects never materialized. Management either can't or won't support growth in their team. As someone with a growth mindset I'm not happy if I'm in the same role for years without any promise of growth or movement. Maybe you're the kind of person who's happy being cozy and comfortable. Maybe you're happy with the same familiar day to day tasks. In that case, Samsara support may be a good choice for you.
