      Its all about the Metrics

      Pros

      The company is financially sound and there is a strong dedication to the Genzyme brand. Overall the people working at Genzyme are committed to making a good product.

      Cons

      Senior Management is overly focused on metrics. While I don't believe they produce products that are not of good quality, there are times where we should be able to hold things up in the name of ensuring that everything is properly investigated and documented.

      Pros

      * Highly intelligent, innovative people with a passion for rare disease and a laser focus on developing effective treatments * Strong sense of team and common mission despite enormous size of organization * Highly approachable senior leaders who openly communicate corporate strategies * Pace allows for strong work/life balance and flexibility to often work remote as needed

      Cons

      * Contractors are in place for years (sometimes 5-7+ years) with no opportunity to convert to full time; however sitting/ working side-by-side full time employees given the same work duties and having the same performance expectations * Non-FDA compliance driven functions lack creativity and innovation in designing new approaches to building efficiencies
