Pros

Great benefits. Sappi offers a long list of benefits that include a Cadillac Healthcare plan, plenty of PTO and a free company paid contributing 401. Can’t complain at all about their benefits package.

Cons

The management in place on the IT side leaves a lot to be desired. Tons of talent in the ranks with little technical talent in the leadership. This tends to lead the the company to poorly made directional decisions often causing more work for the talent below. Everyone is friendly and everyone seems to work well together. But after awhile you start to recognize that the meeting about a meeting about the meeting needs to lead to another meeting about a meeting and not much ever gets accomplished. While at every single meeting everyone gets a pat on the back because of how they keep making their meetings. Yea.... exactly. Moving on.

Pros

-Decent entry level pay for newly graduated mechanical engineer as a reliability engineer -Operations-Maintenance coordination has some improvements, not sure if they will stick

Cons

-Cloquet mill is very disorganized and chaotic -Near constant reactive "firefighting" operations -Maintenance department is not treated as a partner, but rather as a servant -Training in maintenance is a joke
