Pros

Good people do work there

Cons

The young tyrant taking the reigns knows about as much about the business as a kid that would struggle selling periscope pics on an ocean city beach. If you don’t agree with him your time is limited. Terrible workplace environment in management meetings with employees fearful of speaking their mind. Quick to let go of ANYONE who stands up to mismanagement. Employees are pushed to give good reviews on their social media links. The company preaches the "conscious business" book on employees and then acts the complete opposite in real time. Once a great place to work, has since turned into a terrible workplace environment ruled by a know nothing with a quick to bruise ego.

Great people, solid experience, limited budget and mind the cold

Pros

This is an excellent place to build a versatile skill set and learn how a business operates from the ground up. My role is mostly fast paced, and you’ll find that you are constantly needed, which makes the work feel impactful. The best part of the job is the people. People are wonderful to work with, and there is a genuine sense of support from peers and management. One of the best perks is the flexibility with working hours. Management is understanding when personal things come up, and they generally trust you to manage your own time as long as the work gets done. I think those in charge higher up try hard to make this a great place to work. There is a visible effort to create a positive atmosphere.

Cons

While you gain great experience, there’s almost no room for internal advancement. Higher level roles are rarely available, making this more of a "stepping stone" than a long term career. It’s clear that many departments are stretched thin. You can really feel the stress of under staffing when working alongside other teams. Performance is highly praised and recognized through awards, but it isn't reflected in the paycheck. Budget constraints are also visible in the limited supply of necessary equipment. There is a specific social "vibe" at the company. If your personal or political views don’t perfectly align with the majority. Best to keep quiet about your own views or beliefs. There is a disconnect between the "Conscious Business" posters on the walls and the actual office conditions. The building is freezing in the winter. The heat blows cold air often. Unless you’re from Canada, you’ll likely need a space heater at your desk just to function while reading about how much the company cares.
