Pros

The technology is cutting edge, exciting and full of potential. Work mates are great to work with and have a general desire to see the company succeed. Having access to amazing high-end home automation products that only the mega-rich can afford. The company pays well and benefits are middle-of-the-road but in some cases better than previous employers. Offered stock to everyone which always is a great benefit (if the company can succeed).

Cons

The way the company is run seems to be stuck in the early nineties and is slow to change with the times. Expectations aren't clearly defined most of the time. Processes are chaotic, archaic and inefficient. Upper management doesn't appear to care much about their employees. Very much a good old boys club vibe going on. Yearly pay increases, bonuses are virtually non-existent in the 4 years of working at Savant. Zero incentive to excel at your job except to collect a decent paycheck. Communications, communications, communications. Communication between upper management and the rest of the company is sparse; a good example of this is when Savant received a HUGE amount of money in investments yet nobody knows where that money is going as nothing changed in the company when they received it. Aging facilities and work equipment was a huge frustration among pretty much everyone. A huge glaring inability to hire qualified staff or retain them, it seems that people jump ship when their options vest (hence my 4 years with Savant). The Cape is beautiful but not exactly a hub of technology and the workforce that comes with it. Work-life balance is definitely tipped toward work and seems to be expected and encouraged which leads a lot of people to work 50+ hours a week. Seriously, people work insane amounts at this company which is unhealthy.

Pros

Love the home automation industry as there is never a dull day, and it always brings fun challenges to overcome on each job. The people are great and teams are very supportive and willing to offer help. The product is great and has a lot of potential. Up and coming company that has potential depending on how it's strategy pans out.

Cons

Produtct needs more development, and brand recognition in the market. New kid on the block and it shows. Pressure is constant for results but some management decisions has made it a little challenging and little help or willingness to listen to field suggestions. The company is changing and has a new strategy and expectations which is frustrating and very "good old boys" feel to it. Company arrogance which has the potential to hurt it's progress.
