Pros

- You'll get that paycheck and all the pay you earned - Some benefits to full-time employees (vacation, dental and medical) - Discount on the merchandise that hasn't been sold in the past two days - 30 minute and two 15 minute breaks for full-time workers - $100 quartly bonuses whoopty-doo

Cons

- Horrendous management, they will belittle you and make you feel stupid for choosing to work for them. - They don't call it Slavers for nothing. They will make sure you have sure you have a task at all times and will constantly assume that you are doing something wrong. - Managers are overpaid with salary and will constantly be found doing the complete opposite of what is expected in the work place and what is asked for team members.(taking merchandise and talking on cellphone) - They claim to promote internally, yet my manager was working at McDonald's a few months ago.

Pros

hours were very accomodating, initial training was a good experience

Cons

The training was very hands on with watching videos, these video during the training painted an image that was far from the truth. Alot of times during the training they had the same players over and over. Also the players in the training videos were all corporate people that helped paint and show this "perfect" company image. When it came time for pay raises these raises were very small and puny. my wage after 1 year went from 40,000 to only 40,800. The company also believes in using double standards in corrective action. The store management only uses corrective action when they feel appropriate to do so. They also allow other management to yell and use inapropriate language to members of the staff. The company also uses an alert line number where you are allowed to call in when you feel you are being mistreated. This alert line is a waste of time and no results ever are resolved by using this. The only thing that happens is a statement is taken and any issues are never resolved. My training was mostly on the road at other stores in other states. they spent an immense amount of money training me and then laid me off when the company had issues expanding in the Buffalo market. i was laid off from management while another member of management that was hired after me and with limited training still remained on staff.

Pros

Compensation for upper management is excellent, including profit bonuses.

Cons

Where do I begin? The communication between the stores and sourcing is a complete joke, and it makes the job miserable. More often than not I was fed lines about "that's the way it's got to be" without even the slightest modicum of supporting facts. In my location, my direct supervisor was so bereft of understanding in terms of HR protocols that we frequently had to scramble to fix his mistakes. Worse, the lack of ownership of said mistakes. And even worse yet, when communicated to HR, there was little to no follow up or concern. You'll be fed lines about how they're a reduce/reuse/recycle company, but in fact they do the bare minimum required by local and state law. Moreover, they purport to be a community focused enterprise, how then to reconcile the shift from the Community Donation Manager being focused on outreach to one focused on little more than dock supervision? All in all, it's smoke and mirrors. If you're not bothered by these things, go for it. The money is there, and provided your store leadership team is engaged, you'll be successful.
