Pros

I worked at the edmonds, wa store for a year and a half. i started as a recycler with "high potential" as they put it. my job was basically to play support for the production departments. production teams were all stationary and rely on recycling for all incoming and outgoing product. my co-workers were all interesting people and easy to work with to accomplish goals.

Cons

this specific store is pure dysfuntion when it comes to management expectations. they take zero consideration for the time and saftey required of thier tasks. advancement is purely based on associations not ability. their mediation process a joke. consistantly understaffed and undertrained. management very much operated like a click when sorting employee issues. managment will conspire for the outcome they desire rather than they outcome that is fair. very anti-union. pay is a joke if you choose to recycle. such intensive labor is better paid. most places with that degree of work start new hire at $13. you get min. wage at value village even with experience. they are a big fan of the revolving door of employees and would rather you leave than pay you. so your issues will not be addressed seriously

Pros

Great Team Members and supervisors! Flexible hours, friendly and supportive staff. Health, dental and vision benefits are good, 50% off clothing is awesome! 30% off other items. Lots of unique items that can be up-cycled into just about anything.

Cons

Communication is difficult sometimes. Lots of moving parts, with all the right intentions, but no one to make sure the work isn't already being completed by another department or which department should actually be in charge of a particular program. Store management not provided with management training. Lots of turnover at store level.
