Pros

Flexible hours, decent pay for a high school job, and the people you work with can end up being really good friends outside of work

Cons

Customers can be just awful at times, management can expect too much of employees, lots of favoritism.

Pros

- 50% off discount on clothes - Can shop during lunch - A couple of co workers were very nice - Dressing up for Halloween was fun in October

Cons

- Very petty pay increase, 10¢ per year - Difficult to switch shifts with people - If you work part time in Operations, the people in the back (Production) will never care or take time to know who you are. I worked for this company for nearly a year while I was also in high school and people in the back still didn't know my name. Kind of hard to work with people who don't care who you are. - Technically, we are a FOR PROFIT company, that just donates to non-profits. After working for Savers for a year, I've never seen anyone from the non-profit come in or do anything directly with us. This makes me suspicious of how much we really even donate to them. Also, we seem forced to slam the non-profits in people's face. We have bells on our counters with a sign that says "If I don't tell you about our non-profit parter, ring the bell to receive $3 off your next purchase." While this sounds like a great idea, it gets old fast. If it happens 3 times, you can even get a write up!! This made me hate cashiering, because the customers hated it too. After hearing it once, hearing the whole story when you're just trying to pay for your items and go home can make people very irritable. One time, I was trying to have a normal conversation with a customer, "Hey how's your day been going? Love that shirt you picked out!" And my manager pulled me aside after and told me I'm not allowed to say that. Seemed like a fine and appropriate conversation to me... - Dirty work environment. We had black mold in the bathroom the entire time I worked there. Many people complained, one employee even offered to fix it himself but management didn't think it was that big of a deal. - We start Halloween in August, and are expected to harass people and get them to buy expensive new costumes. The full night costume set was over $100. That's a little overpriced if you ask me
