Pros

Lots of cool people, discounts in all the gift shops, employee cafes with discounted food, and there are incentive nights for all workers (BoogieBahn night, Sky Coaster night, etc.)

Cons

Only allowed one 30 minute break for a sometimes 12 hour workday, being in the heat is rough when you're also next to a corn roaster, and management is pretty temperamental

Pros

Being outside, free admission, testing the rides in the morning, learning to save lives, pretty easy to move up in the company.

Cons

Really long hours for low pay. The gift shop people make more money than lifeguards and they have 25% of the responsibility. Full of high school kids, so really only a cool job if you're in high school or just starting college.

Pros

Easy product to sale (requires outside sales). Fun Place to work. The "Schlitterbahn Way" value system is the base of the culture and is really positive. Both the sales and marketing director and sales manager acted as advocates for the team. As a result, we had a lot of tools to help us meet our goal and take care of major accounts. They were fair and always willing to help. Company paid medical. You get to play in the park for FREE!!

Cons

Company does not conduct annual performance reviews consistently. Raises are rare. Often took forever to get an expense check (like 3-6 weeks). GM doesn't hold all departments accountable to the same degree. Drama and gossip among the younger, seasonal staff.
