Pros

if you have kids, you can leave early every day knowing the single people will have to do your work for you. work life balance is definitely skewed to the life side for some people, with the other people expected to pick up the slack.

Cons

Raises, bonuses, and promotions are not merit or performance based. who you know is more important than what you know

Pros

Great product and mission - getting kids to read. Nothing better than being at a school and seeing the students so excited about getting books. There is always a book for every interest and reading level.

Cons

The internal systems, training, and processes are the worst I have ever seen. Manual overrides are required for the same thing time after time leaving much room for human error. This is not only frustrating to employees, but customers as well as they don't understand why we can't make changes that 'stick'. Costs us time and money as a company.
