Respected company in the industry, SEL makes a quality product they stand behind. The small college town atmosphere is great for young families.

Cons

Political environment. Good people are leaving, some being forced out, and others seeing the writing on the wall. People are being promoted based on relationships, and not on ability to do the job. Many with actual experience in the electrical utility industry have left. HR is not there to back the employee, but to enforce the wishes of management. Many double standards on acceptable behavior. Board of directors is appointed by the President, which doesn't lend itself to any balance of power. It is an Employee Owned company but employees don't have much say on how things are run.
