Ok company overall. Overly conservative. Beware of the nepotism...
Pros
Ok benefits, ok work environment. Compensation is ok to be in Pullman, WA which is still quite expensive to live in even if it is in the middle of nowhere. The actual products that get produced are good.
Cons
Nepotism is everywhere. family and friends of the founder are placed in positions of power mostly without having credentials for it. This creates huge problems with getting things done at work. The founder/CEO thinks he is the savior of the area and dispatches political advice to his employees during company functions. The employee ownership is made to seem like a gift to the employees, while it was a great ploy by the founder to get a great payout, with huge tax breaks and still keep full control of the organization (a thing he could not have accomplished with selling to a larger company). The terms of the sale were never disclosed even if they should be public knowledge of the employee owners. The company works like a kingdom where the CEO/Founder micromanages everyone and changes scope on projects whenever he likes. It is a really frustrating work environment because it takes so long to get anything done.
