Pros

The pros of working at Scorpion Design are nearly innumerable. First and foremost, the environment is an incredibly fun and productive one. We work hard, we play hard. We constantly innovate and improve and train to be better so that our clients are happier. I've never worked at a place that focused so heavily on turning every employee into a strong asset instead of allowing liabilities to fester and bring everyone down. The pay and benefits are without rival. I could never have dreamed of making what I make here at another company, especially considering I started with no experience several years ago. Now I make several times the industry standard. The kicker? I received all of my training on the job, from some of the best business and technical minds around. Advances in the company are entirely dependent on how hard, and how smart, you work. There are no barriers to promotions. NONE. I can honestly say this is one of the most surprising aspects of the company. If you do a good job, you will advance. If you don't, you won't. Lunch is paid for every day of the week at a nearby cafe, and the food is great. Had a bad experience working with managers at other places? Worried about senior management here? Don't be. The managers are unquestionably the hardest working group of the entire staff. The CEO, Rustin Kretz, is the single hardest working, most committed and driven person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with.

Cons

I have one con: I wish I had started working here a decade ago.

Pros

Scorpion Design isn't just my place of employment, it's become my family. The company's founder, Rustin Kretz, is an amazing leader and has paved the way for a one of a kind work environment. He genuinely cares about his employees, and no matter how big the company grows, he never loses that accessibility factor. His attitude trickles down to the management teams in the different divisions of the company ensuring that it's a company-wide mentality, not just limited to him. As a whole, the employees who work here work harder than anyone would ever believe, and we really do care about delivering quality products & superior client service because that is just the culture of our company. It's what we do - plain & simple. I absolutely love working here and would never want to go anywhere else!

Cons

Still waiting on that company jet ;)

Pros

Having worked for other companies prior to coming to Scorpion Design, it is clear that the CEO, the executive team, managers, and all of the employees all truly care for the well-being of our clients—we take personal pride in seeing our clients double, triple, and even quadruple in size because of our marketing efforts on their behalf. The CEO (as well as all of the executives and managers) make themselves available to have one-on-one meetings with you about anything. If there are any issues, solutions are always identified quickly and, in many instances, implemented the next day—which is something I truly appreciate. In addition to scheduled team training, every employee is encouraged to proactively train on the newest technology that allow us to provide a better client experience. This is unique, where employees are not pigeonholed into their position, but are given the opportunity to offer suggestions to their own department, as well as other departments. This has helped with continually improved work-flow within the company. We have also developed our own proprietary content management (CMS) system in-house to manage our client's websites and for our client's to easily be able to update their website. Since we have our development team on premises, we are able to roll-out improvements on a daily basis which improves our productivity. Our project management team does an amazing job by always working effectively with all of our new clients and coordinating with all of the various departments who are necessary to get a website launched. Where, prior to starting at this company, I had no idea there were so many departments that had to work seamlessly with one another to launch a website; our project managers have it down to a science. Our design team continues to receive recognition of their cutting-edge and client-converting web designs by winning internationally recognized awards year-after-year! And while copying is the greatest form of flattery, anyone can see by visiting other web designer's portfolios that many of the websites they have recently launched contain many of the same elements and the look-and-feel of our sites that we launched 6 months prior to theirs. Our marketing team is also the very best out there. They continually have their finger on the pulse of upcoming changes, and they are able to implement their contingency plans when a small or big change is implemented by search engines, directories, or social media websites. Lastly, you are able to make your career here whatever you want it to be! What this means is, regardless of the position that you start in, if you proactively make yourself invaluable by finding something that could be improved and making it better, you will continue to move-up in the company and be rewarded for your contributions.

Cons

By being the leader in online marketing, competitors are always attempting to try and copy our designs, content and/or marketing strategies - which keeps our legal department quite busy.
