Pros

Overtime is huge at Scot forge and if you dont mind working long hours then this is for you. Paid weekly and monthly bonuses based on company preformance.

Cons

Work/Life balance is non existent. If you dont care to see your family then this would be perfect for you. 11 1/2 hour days monday through friday then a 5 hour day on saturday gives no balance of work and life

Pros

The people who work here are amazing, however a lot of good talent is leaving. Company events are fun.

Cons

I ended up working for the forge for about 3 years. At the beginning, it wasn't too bad. Then, the steel market went to crap with china buying all the metal and orders decreased. This caused layoffs and much more pressure on employees. A year after this, the market picked up, but no one was hired. This put a lot of stress on employees working 60 hours a week making under average salaries. Some shop workers are oblivious to what happens in the office. Required to work Saturday's even if you work you butt off all week and get your work done. No opportunities for growth. They will hire from outside for higher positions. Yearly reviews are always late and don't expect much of a bump. The type of work if difficult too. You work on critical components for military and aerospace applications. If you screw something up you get chewed out, but there is no reward for success.
