Pros

The company is in good shape at a time when the financial sector as a whole is in chaos. Offices and branches around the world mean opportunities for working abroad. There is an atmosphere if healthy competition, without much of the eat-rocks-and-crap-fire, alpha-dog stuff you might find elsewhere.

Cons

A fair amount of second-guessing; lots of paperwork; some of the same territoriality you will find in any big organization. Office location next to WTC site will be a downer for some (at least until something is finally built there).

Pros

Growth and Opportunities abound. Things are slow to happen and slower to get support from Management. Resources are fantastic and if you have an idea, and run long and hard with it, you can make a change, you will get the recognition and you will be rewarded for your ideas and hard work with financial benefits and promotions.

Cons

Scotia Capital sucks when it comes to compensation. Thats a good thing and a bad thing - Good thing cos you can learn alot and jump to a higher paying job elsewhere. Bad because you are being paid diddly squat for the work you do. Bottom line, it doesnt pay enough, I am only here because it is a great place to work.
