Pros

fun working environment, decent commission structure, very good benefits especially for those with families in need of health care coverage

Cons

long hours that constantly change, less than minimum wage for salaried compensation for overtime hours that are mandatory, in sales, we routinely work 6 days a week, no sick leave and you are penalized for each day missed

Pros

- Get to make your own hours with a large amount of autonomy to do your work on your own. The number one perk of this job! -Boss was good in not micro managing our work (see point #1) -Great culture, everyone is extroverted and enthusiastic about working there. - Great mileage rate -Company subsidizes cell phone / internet costs - #1 market leader in the lawn and garden sector with a strong customer following, customers are proud to use the product.

Cons

-Seasonal job, limited work in off season with no benefits. -Scotts seems to be tightening down on their budget, talking to others, the company was more generous in the hours and pay in previous years. -Limited to no room for advancement in this position. -Lack of respect from store managers / store staff - any work you do for a store, could very well be gone the next time your in. Despite the brand recognition many managers see your involvement in their store as encroaching on their responsibilities and therefore ego's and power trips often get involved. -The work is not really fulfilling as most people in the job are overqualified. What you make of the job is what you get out of it.
