Amazing long-term vision, not sure how to get there

Pros

The product is tremendous value and people who know about it love it. The people are smart, driven, professional, and committed. Great benefits and culture.

Cons

Leadership team seems to know where it wants to go, but has trouble figuring out how to get there. It's hard to get things done because there's a lack of alignment about what's really important and why. Technical leadership is brand new and just starting to figure out how to move forward.

Pros

Great for engineers who want to learn and take ownership. Amazing perks, beautiful new office, and amazing people. The work was mostly satisfying and you have opportunities to mentor and be mentored. Leadership is willing to listen appreciates feedback. They were very open and transparent.

Cons

Leadership lays on the pressure to execute far too much, and there's not a lot of time to clean up code (tests, hot fixes etc). This is to say, I felt like I was working in a feature factory, constantly churning out code and leaving little room to maintain it. Cutting corners is a recipe for disaster if it isn't curbed sooner than later, and engineer retention will suffer.

great team-level culture interesting projects and vision some really great people to work with

Cons

multiple products means lower attention span low accountability at the leadership level = lots of blaming urgency for the sake of urgency
