Pros

- people are nice - moving towards a good place technically, getting rid of tech debt, etc. - good learning and ergonomics budgets

Cons

- lack of focus on ethical account management practices, lots of unaddressed bugs, and frustrated customers who don't want to pay us but are forced to anyway - leadership is not very experienced other than the new hires, most have only ever worked at Scribd and not up-to-date with industry best practices

Pros

After years of corporate abuse, I just assumed being employed meant varying levels of hating yourself, your job, and others, but I could not have been more wrong. Scribd employs some of the best, most generous, most encouraging, and most helpful people I have ever known or had the pleasure to work with. They not only want our customers to be happy, but they want every employee to be happy too. They have an excellent training and mentorship program, and they talk about career development sincerely from day one. Management is always on the lookout for ways to help you grow and develop your skills. They are engaging and inclusive. Even during the pandemic, they have done everything they could to make people feel connected, including monthly fireside chats from leadership, zoom team meetings, games, book clubs, guest lectures and lessons, breakout sessions, and even company-wide team-building events. They genuinely care about employee engagement and feedback, and they are always looking out for proper work/life balance. I have never felt so supported, appreciated, or cared for. My goal has become to find new ways to be an asset to this company.

Cons

I honestly can't think of any cons to working for Scribd. This is literally my favorite place to have ever worked, and if there was something that needed improving, leadership is open enough to listen and take in that feedback.
