Pros

Friendly people. No office politics. People care about the quality of their work. Plenty of growth opportunities for entry/mid level employees. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner everyday. Good work/life balance. Not as strict as a regular corporation, but definitely not as relaxed as a start-up.

Cons

Lots of legacy and tech debt issues. Competing priorities.

Pros

- Great coworkers - Interesting projects and lots to learn - Increased amount of collaboration across teams since I first started when the process was very waterfall. Now engineers and designers talk to each other more and include any other related teams earlier in projects so there are less surprises. - Constant improvement and willing to improve processes in place. The company operates very differently from when I first started. - The office coordinators do their best to provide awesome company events - Free meals every day and other benefits - Executive team is reliable enough that I trust them even if I don't trust the CEO. He at least seems to hire the right people who are experienced and know what they're doing.

Cons

- Work life balance isn't ideal sometimes. When a team is small, the pressure is always on. I'm surprised people are not more burnt out. - Lots of debt because of trying to meet deadlines of pushing out new features all the time. - Very rarely does a feature get to be improved on more than once without a time lag of at least a year. Some features don't get touched in years even if it's essential to the product.

Pros

- Talented, smart, respectful employees and solid managers. Teams generally work well together - very little drama - Company is doing well - profitable and growing. So the risk of getting laid off because the company is struggling is very low. - Who doesn't love reading and books? Noble cause. - Since the org is still relatively small, you have a good chance to make significant contributions to the business, product, design, and codebase - Lots of room for personal growth and learning. If there's an area you find interesting, you can contribute. - All the standard start-up perks (breakfast, lunch, and dinner; snacks; games; flexible work from home; recent addition of 401k matching) - Individual and team contributions are very visible and well-recognized by managers

Cons

- Lots of different content types (books, audiobooks, articles, documents, sheet music) is a blessing and a curse -- hard to focus on improving any one content type to world-class without letting the others slip
