Pros

Positive, people-centric culture. Growing company that is also maturing; for example, with the addition of 401k matching and paid parental leave. Tons of talented teammates. Meals three times a day. Healthy work-life balance. Strong leadership. Emphasis on cross-functional teams and relationships. Great product.

Cons

I'm struggling to come up with any cons. Like any job, not every day is great; but the bad days are few and far between. The company is growing, which comes with the usual challenges, but the leadership team is very intentional about assuring that the company matures as it grows while maintaining the culture that made this company great to work at when it was smaller.

Pros

I feel like I've been consistently put in a position where I can grow as an engineer. I'm regularly challenged in the workplace and my co-workers are all extremely talented, humble, and eager to help. I have multiple team mates who have been on the team for 3+ years. They are great resources and awesome humans. Great perks like catered breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Company offsites, etc.

Cons

My team has grown a bit lately and gone through some organizational shifts. Management generally has a hands-off approach - which is great for some people. But I think if they had to have a less hands off-approach it would tough, because they are stretched thin as it is. As with many tech companies, it can feel homogenous. But we do have many unique individuals and our representation of various types of folks is increasing.

Pros

Some obvious perks include the location, catered food, amazing snack options, and funny coworkers. I think the biggest pro for me is how approachable management is at Scribd. After being here for about half a year, they have been very great about setting expectations and helping you succeed at your job. That said, I made a switch from one department to another because of my changing career goals + culture / personality fit differences, and it went very smoothly.

Cons

The department I switched from was very stressful. I wish I could say which one it is because it'd be good for potential candidates to the team here. Basically, you need be very type A to succeed there and it can be a huge turnoff for some people.
