Pros
If interested in a career in healthcare, there is no other job that can come close to the hands on experience this job allows. Also, The management is usually good with accommodating which specialty you would like to work in, and you can be trained in multiple specialties. Most of the physicians will even allow you to ask them questions, which is an amazing opportunity to learn.
Cons
Inefficient management. For the amount of work you put in, you will make very little money. It's $9/hr to start, with a possible raise to $10/hr after 6 months. However there is no room for advancement and little room for professional growth. You can get scheduled anywhere between 5 to 40 hours a week. It really just depends on what is available. Also, physicians will often cancel their clinic hours, and you may not know until the day of. I highly recommend having a second part time job to supplement the income. On the flip side, this would be a great job for students with a flexible schedule.
