Pros

In ED settings, you get to learn from providers and learn how to write a chart. You develop relationships with the providers and it’s really quite lovely. Great experience for an entry level job.

Cons

Pay is not the best. For scribes in private clinics in my area, pay is around $13/hr. After a year of experience, I’m still only about $9.50. You cannot live off of this unless you have another job or money and rent isn’t an issue for you.
