Pros

If you work with a good physician you can learn a lot as a scribe. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get yourself into the medical field or learn in a real world setting.

Cons

Expensive benefits package which has an incredibly high deductible, Poor support for lower rungs management. No reward for doing well unless you are willing to take traveling positions.

Pros

There are literally ZERO pros to working for this sad excuse for an organization.

Cons

Everything done here is clearly based off of a military style (the CEO has a military background). All departments are 100% siloed. There is zero organization in this company. If you're looking for somewhere to work that has a solid company culture and one that cares about their employees, then I would steer VERY clear of this place. For being a health care organization, the benefits are horrendous. There is ZERO 401(k) contribution/matching form the organization. The pay/salary is disgusting. It's obvious that they think everyone is a joke and completely undervalue the education and experience their employees have. The work they do is shady. If you're a physician group, hospital, clinic, ED, or anything of the sort looking to put scribes in your facilities, DO NOT go under contract with Scribe America. You will be extremely disappointed. The scribes are clearly unhappy and the upper management has no desire to please the physicians, scribes, or anyone else but themselves, for that matter. The HR department is a sad excuse for "human resources". The management in that department has no idea what "human resources" even means, nor do they have any real experience in it. Their communication skills are beyond lacking and their behavior could easily be categorized as petty, unprofessional, and incompetent. This organization recently bought out PhysAssist Scribes, Inc. and it's clear they only know how to do two things: run a business completely into the ground and treat seasoned employees like complete trash. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT WORK FOR OR DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! You will absolutely regret it.

Pros

First hand clinical experience Only need high school GED or some college Most of your team will be college students Great prior experience for professional programs

Cons

My team never had enough employees, so if you were full time you could be scheduled to work up to 70hrs per week (w/ over time) If you are in school, they say they care about your education but don't make efficient efforts to hire more people. Pay starts at minimum wage, and honestly isn't enough for the amount of work that is required.
