Pros
This job allowed me to learn so much more about the inner workings of a hospital and orthopedic clinic. It was a comprehensive teaching experience to aid alongside my schoolwork in the nursing program and subsequent health sciences program. I met so many wonderful people who also worked in the hospital ER in addition to many future doctors and PA's working as scribes. It is an incredible information and connection boost to any medical degree or job prospects.
Cons
The turnover of positions is rather high as no one wants to be a scribe forever, it is more of a base point to get a feel of terminology and how medical personnel work with patients. Thus the management was never 100% consistent and it became a little confusing if I should move up in the company and take on a lot more responsibilities or just stay at the same level. Sometimes if managers are shorthanded they can ask a lot of you in terms of shifts and scheduling but if you are part time and a student or just have a busy life, don't feel required to take on a ton of shifts.
