Pros

You will learn A LOT and make great connections with physicians. If you are pursuing a career in medicine this is definitely a starting point. Will help you adapt to being in a hospital setting.

Cons

very low pay, strange hours, chief scribes can be rude, steep learning curve, you will feel mentally and physically drained after every shift which is tough especially if you are a student. Being a scribe is fine for now but im currently looking for another job considering I can only have 1 job while in school and this is not paying the bills (scribes deserve more $ considering doctors rely on you so heavily!!). You'll also be thrown into your first solo shift feeling like you have no idea what you are doing.

Pros

Provides experience for those interested in Medicine

Cons

Management is incredibly poor, terminates employees without warning, no accommodations for those with mental health problems, inflexible hours, ridiculously high expectations, all for very little pay. Oh, and don't bother trying to get benefits, because you'll be playing phone tag with HR and management.

Pros

i no longer work there

Cons

scribe america itselfThis job was a joke. They give you minimum wage to kiss provider's butts. It's a low job. They train you to be the bottom of the barrel. One of the providers even asked me to go in the locker room and get her a flavored water and order her pizza for dinner. Are you kidding me??! I am not your personal assistant. Last time i check, i am not getting paid these 27 cents an hour to get you dinner lady. God, the ego! Get your butt up and get your lemon flavored water yourself you lazy, ego driven lowlife. They expect you to laugh at their dry jokes and if you don't, they call you unprofessional and unreceptive. Newsflash, you are not funny. There was another provider who laughed at everything. I am not sure if she would come to work drunk, high or something but a person who has developed severe liver pain due to excessive drinking is not funny. A person who had her daughter taken away from her because of her drinking is not funny. A person who comes in for bilateral leg pain because a car backed into him when he was hovering over his trunk is not funny. Yet, they have the audacity to call ME unprofessional. These doctors walk around like they are Gods. They think they know everything about everything even of things that have nothing to do with medicine. Sit your butts down. Newsflash, you are just another joe and nothing more. They will act like they like you then talk behind you back. There is no trust in the company. Managers and floor trainers do the same thing. They are friendly with you in person and through text then tell upper managers that you are rude, unprofessional, unreceptive and bad for the company. Pathetic. Don't waist your time with this 2 dollars worth company. Their stupidity is laughable. They'll brainwash you into thinking that scribing is this amazing experiencing just to get you to be their personal assistant. How about this; how about you all put both of your legs down from the tables and write your own damn charts. When they need to reprimand you, they'll call you so you could hear their wrath but when it comes down to something that requires guts, they send you an email. Advise- next time you want to terminate a person, try doing it in person or at by phone. Shooting an email is unprofessional and cowardly.
