Horrible company

Pros

Medical staff at the hospital (not affiliated with Scribe America) are friendly.

Cons

Laughable pay. With the contracts signed the company makes 25 dollars an hour and only pay the scribe 10. The rest goes straight to the ridiculous salaries of upper management. Management is disorganized and has no idea what they are doing, the worst scribe to ever come through my hospital is now the regional manager. No vacation or sick time off, you will actually get written up for being sick. Don't even think about taking break during your shift. They do not stand up for their employees and will sign contracts with other companies to add work for the scribe with no increased pay. Example: We now have to give patient's surveys for another company, Scribeamerica pockets the money from this contract and the scribe never sees a penny even though they are literally the only ones doing the work for this.

Pros

If you like to work long hours, barely have a lunch break and get taken advantage of, this is a great job for you.

Cons

1.) compensation is the minimum wage in your state - after 3 months they raise you to $10. But after that, no more raises. It does not matter how many years you have been with the company. 2.) poor management. As chief scribe, I once asked for a raise after working for the company for 2 years. I was told no. That "this is a business and they want to make a bigger profit." I wish this was a lie, but that is exactly what I was told. 3.) Again, YOU GET PAID TERRIBLY. 4.) you will make more money working for a doctors office that hire there own scribes. 5.) If you get promoted to floor trainer (which makes $11) you must demote them once they are done training the new hire. So basically you go back to making $10 6.) the people working for them are students. And with this pay, we can barely afford the essentials we need. 7.) They make you pay for your uniform. If you work in the ER, they will give you your shirt. But you must buy your own khaki pants. In outpatient, you must pay for your own scrubs ... WHICH ARE EXPENSIVE. 8.) Do not work here, they are taking advantage of you. This company needs new, fair management.

Cons

-pay is a little low for what I do as a Chief Scribe -I work everyday, 5 mins here and there, and it adds up but there is no way to clock it
