There is no standardization, no structure. No focus on policy or procedure in this organization from an IS standpoint. No cohesion between IS departments. The IS change management calendar is a complete mess. Projects interfering with one another. And workflows??? WHAT WORKFLOWS??? Each department does everything however they see fit. They are setting themselves up for failure in the near future. It's already happening. Just ask clinical staff how often their EHR goes down. There are also way too many hands in the pot

Every department I've seen -- clinical, IT, medical staff -- is understaffed by 25 - 35% which means cutting corners, overtime, poor family/work life, over expectations on performance and under appreciation. Antiquated clinical applications -- has anyone there heard of an iPad or the Internet for that matter? Hello? 1995 is calling and wants their technology back!
