An abysmal failure of trust and delegation....

Pros

Very talented people in general, who are passionate about security. You won't find a MSSP with a better pedigree amongst middle management.

Cons

If you're not in Atlanta, don't bother trying to get your point across because it simply won't be listened to. There's a complete failure in the way that the business is run - EMEA and APJ are ignored and leaders there are leaders in name only. They are unable to affect change and ensure local strategy aligns with overall corporate objectives. Complete lack of understanding of market needs outside the core US market. At the same time, they have full responsibility for delivering results ie. Accountability without Control. Financial and administrative systems are poor, but senior team members don't seem to understand the need to get these basic hygiene factors right. Waves of redundancies even though people are already overworked and the good people are leaving in droves. Complete lack of attention given to some exceptionally poor managers who are allowed to continue failing the company and their teams. It's all a great pity because fundamentally, Secureworks is a great company. It has lost its way with an erratic strategy and focus on the wrong priorities. I sincerely hope that changes.

Pros

The mission of protecting companies from cyber threats is noble and vital. Some of the colleagues I worked with were genuinely skilled and supportive.

Cons

The marketing efforts are nearly non-existent, making gaining traction incredibly difficult. There's no clear strategy or support for driving growth. The channel program is severely underdeveloped. There's no proper focus, and the support provided to partners is minimal, leading to confusion and inefficiency. Everything is done on the fly without proper planning or execution. This disorganization creates a chaotic environment where employees scramble to meet unrealistic expectations without the necessary tools or direction. There's little investment in employees or partners, making it difficult to succeed or feel valued within the company. Leadership seems disconnected from the day-to-day realities, with little understanding of what it takes to be successful in this industry.

Pros

Good place to learn with competent people, very interesting tech and important problems to solve.

Cons

The company was a sinking ship, with everything seeming to crumble down. Management didn't seem to know where to go and emphasize was on degrowth.
