Pros

- Remote work is allowed depending on the role and team - Good pension contribution - Some very smart individuals to learn from - Some of the internal communication tools have improved over time - Overtime and working weekends is not the norm

Cons

It takes time to appreciate how detrimental working at Secureworks really is. Minimal pay rises each year, not keeping up with market rates. Management always finds excuses to explain that a 2% raise is the best they could do. Frequent internal communications attempting to talk workers into believing in some absurd vision. Some mid level managers absolutely clueless and disrespectful to individuals contributors. Most of the senior leadership team members more interested in making themselves stand out than solving systemic issues in the organisation they are fully in charge of. Serious and concerning feedback tossed under the carpet. Secureworks is radically transforming its business, seeks to achieve spectacular margins but is unable to make that transitioning without seeing swath of talented employees leave. Politics have been on the rise among employees who stayed. HR is totally obscure, never in touch, only intervening when serious people management issues occur, or to help managers follow the meticulous procedure to lay people off safely. Compelled speech and mandatory vaccines across the entire employee pool located in United States were shocking moves to me, of course mandated from the top down, no discussion, comply or move on. Last but not least, a tech company providing the worst workstations I've ever had to deal with. Constant issues, Dell refurbished/faulty hardware perhaps, not a smart idea. I have witnessed several employees ultimately falling into depression after years of dedication to their role at Secureworks. Beware.

Pros

Some great people, passionate about what they do and genuinely desiring to be the best in their field.

Cons

Leadership don’t value staff except the inner circle. When your face fits everything is good, but speak out and you get sidelined pretty quickly. Lots of company culture committing to open and honest communication, but they don’t live by the same standards.

Pros

- Do your job and go home kind of environment. This can be seen as positive or negative, since it doesn't allow you to develop and change processes, you will soon grow detached from the role and be there for the paycheck. No room for creativity in such a role.

Cons

- Management with no technical or managerial experience which rely on 'distorting' the truth in order to hire new employees and detain employees longer. - Lack of training, except the GCIA certification you will not have the support required for the role. While you will be on the frontline of customer service, the management will try to not claim responsibility for issues as much as possible. - The role is a mix of call centre and event management, most likely not what you signed up for. - Highly compartmentalised, each team throws the ball onto the next and tries not to claim responsibility. - You are only allowed to move into the available SOC positions, even if you have the skills other roles require. - Management keeps repeating the phrases 'The company cares about you' and labeling as negative anyone who disagrees with them. - Salary way below market rates. The 'pay review' is still on-going (1 year now). - Not a role to have a career or if you want to achieve more than just a paycheck at the end of the month.
