Pros

This is a company with their values straight. Employees and customers are consistently valued above the bottom line. Great opportunities for advancement.

The culture is somewhat slow to change.

Pros

Not much pros .If you get lucky you'll work with a good team. Only pro is being right next all the food locations for convenience

Cons

Micromanagement, supervisors could be more professional and understanding, too many people go in and out(understandably because they treat the temps like trash), unrealistic goals to be achieved by employees, benefits are not great for such a large company, a lot of people sit around doing nothing but watching YouTube

Going thru the change of life

Pros

Good fringe benefits: a pension. PSP-Bonus each year. Discount life insurance. A robust training & development area. In some divisions support on pursing FINRA exams. They don't have layoffs - they just redeploy you to another area (of potential misery).

Cons

HR likes to hire rural types: SD, ND, Iowa, Wisc. They want people who are not challenging nor aggressive. Lots of group think. No one is direct. Also lots of women in Mgmt so expect long meetings and game playing. It's going to be very hard for the company in the future to tackle two major issues: dwindling returns on investment funds and antiquated systems. Mgmt's solution is to overhaul systems and reduce support staff. Their hope is thru baby boomer attrition no layoffs are needed. SIgnificant brain drain will occur. Most have been with the company 20+ years, so expect to see the country-club wave of uneducated Boomers slowly die out. with little care towards teaching others how to maintain the antiquated legacy systems. In 5-10 years it's gonna be real hell. Also we just got a new CEO, and he's all about stats and bottom line cost. This company will not be what it was one year from now. Right now only the Boomers are getting good treatment. When gone, we'll be like any other soul-less entity that sucks the marrow from the bones of the young to feed the old.
