Mostly secure company, but has it's shortcomings

Safe environment, mostly secure positions (things might be changing as they're selling off business), easy work, good people

Cons

Lack of focus on associate development, role responsibilities evolve and individuals take on more but salaries don't increase, overall strategy is very lackluster and prioritization often seems non-existent

The people at the company that you work with on a day to day basis are great. Good benefits for as long as they let you keep them.

Cons

Company runs like any other business. Will make business decisions with little to no care about how it affects the workers. They won't hesitate to sell a portion of the company and ship your job somewhere else that doesn't have nearly as good of retirement benefits so Securian's benefits aren't as much as a draw as they seem.
