Pros

Excellent work, good enrolment good people

Cons

Long approval processes cause delays in work. Everything runs through policies and procedures, which reduces creativity.

Pros

Pension, close to home and in the field I love

Cons

Management has no real direction and the talk in fluffy words with nothing to back them up. Promotions go only to young people, and are extremely political. There is no accountability to the customer and departments are so separate they may as well be different companies. Favoritism is rampant and hard work and results are not recognized but rather the same people are handed accolades without and real reason other than they are favored. Employees have no desks, everything is collab space and in the office time is not cohesive or effective. I work better from home but am not allowed to do so. Direct supervision is unfair, uncaring and should not be in charge of people.

Pros

Flexible schedule, some hybrid work options

Cons

Under paid, lack of technology (systems usually go down on a daily), poor leadership- most managers don't even know what their employees do on a day to day, if you are not in management you are highly disregarded, unrealistic expectations, false hopes and misleading communications, lack of accountability for leadership, poor documentation and record keeping (how does an insurance company LOSE someone's record of insurance?!), favoritism, non-compliance with state regulations, you are required to do the jobs of multiple people/positions, retaliation- don't call out what isn't working otherwise you will be retaliated against. And as long as you cry at your desk because you don't can't handle the work load then leave the department you can come back and be hired as a manager or you can not apply for a management position and still get hired to be a manager in a department you know nothing about.. because you are friends with the direct of the department and that is all they will hire is people they have relationships with- no consideration given to qualifications or knowledge of the job/department
