Pros

Hybrid WFH, health care benefit was good, Salary decent, was treated well by everyone while I worked for them

Cons

Was dumped on immediately with 150+ claims none of which had any work done to them for months, some years. Half my day consisted of cleaning up the mess left by the prior examiners. My day: Processing medical bills AND paying invoices from 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 which had not been processed by the prior examiners. Again 4 hours of each of my days consisted of this admin work (reopening files, re-reserving the files so that we can pay for the IME invoice from 2021, assigning counsel because clmt atty would file penalty petitions for non payment of owed med bills, etc) - this takes up A TON of time when AT LEAST HALF your files had these issues that hadn't been properly addressed prior. The job itself was mostly administrative/secretary/assistant type work. We really had no authority to make decisions. I will say we had authority to accept claims which I do appreciate, but all we were instructed to do really consisted of processing medical bills, paying invoices, and reviewing mail. The job majoritively consisted of admin work, on top of handling a claims desk. But having people work 2 jobs in 1 is not exclusive to Sedgwick; its a country wide trend these days with all companies. Metrics - the only thing upper management cared about, but this is not a critique; I understand the importance of this; just wish they'd look at us as human beings and not robots. But again, this is probably not exclusive to Sedgwick. When I gave my 2 wk notice they began treating me poorly; I guess I dont blame them. But months later they are blaming me for issues that have arisen on claims bc I "slacked" during my 2 wk notice period. But hey - their focus on the 2 wk period, rather than discerning my year of diligent work and working through 6:30pm at night... what have you done for me lately, I guess! Also - when you were told that annual raises can be no more than 3%, coupled with the fact that no annual bonuses were given, doesn't really foster an environment to obtain and retain talented individuals, hence the employee turnover problem.
