Should you work for Select?

Pros

Still looking for the pros. I guess a paycheck.

Cons

Select does not care for their employees. This company is focused on making money and expansion. In my opinion, they consider therapists as an expendable commodity. Hopefully that will change, it hasn't yet. Honestly, I do not recommend working for Select. As reimbursement rates have decreased for therapy services, so has the company's focus on their employees.

Pros

Upper management seems to be responsive. [even though their responses sometimes lack professionalism and respect] Flexible Schedules Free CEU's online Reimburse license fees

Cons

Terrible vacation benefit, you will continue to lose PTO over the years because you only accrue PTO on hours "worked", and therefore when you use PTO your "worked" hours are less so you will not accrue as much. Just stupid. Lack of respect for therapist decision making/clinical skills Will always side with the SNF no matter what. Pressured to see clients who do not need skilled therapy. No holiday pay whatsoever---it's just another day

Pros

The only pros is that I've been lucky to have great co-workers. Otherwise, Select offers nothing because they want to keep their overhead low.

Cons

Select Rehab and CEO Neal Deutsch is as greedy for money as they come. The epitome of what is wrong with healthcare. Select Rehab has left me jaded about healthcare in this country. They don't care about patients, they only care that we bill, bill, bill so they can make money. There is NO holiday pay. They won't reimburse for ANYTHING that you need to get your job dont well (maybe except gloves and masks so you don't get sick and they lose precious money) . They give you an iPad (without a keyboard) and expect you to meet productivity. We got NOTHING for the holidays, not even a simple "thank you" email or acknowledgment of the hard work we do for Select.
