Pros

-Schedule flexibility -Support innovative ideas -Autonomy to try new things -Collaborative environment -Approachable executive leadership team

Cons

-Expected workload is impossible to manage -Pay does not cominserate experience or duties -Inequities in promotions -More chefs in the kitchen than people actually doing the work, creates too many variations of what to execute leading to mass confusion and delays in execution -Recognition happens with the same people, broad acknowledgement for individuals is minimal

Few Pros, Many Cons

Pros

I truly believe there are a handful of individuals working at SelectQuote that want to do the right thing and make it a wonderful place to work AND do what is right by the customer. Remote work. Majority of leadership is flexible with working hours and PTO if enough is accrued and outside of the Annual Enrollment Season.

Cons

I can only speak to the senior division for a lot of these concerns. The main issue that I have, and have had, with SelectQuote has been the ethics. Those in higher positions only care about the bottom line and making money over the wellbeing of the customers we serve. Top sales agents receive continued praise when their sales tactics are detrimental to their customers. Making them switch to a plan that will cost them more in the long run, or does not have their doctors or medications in network. Top sales agents only give the highlights and not the entire story/benefit explanation when it comes to switching plans. Communication is TERRIBLE. No one ever has any idea what is going on. With how fast things change at SelectQuote it often leaves people feeling lost and corners are often cut or work is being duplicated. Most managers micromanage and work their employees like crazy, but are not putting in the work themselves. They don't want to listen to the needs of their team or of the operational functions that could increase morale and better our compliance scores. They continue to push their agents to close at extreme rates even if we don't have plans that benefit the customer. There are continued promotions to those that truly do not deserve them. They have shown on multiple occasions hey are not actively listening to solutions for performance or have not been paying attention to what is going on in any department or division other than their own.

Pros

The owners are kind and caring people. Their visions are the main reasons why I continue to be loyal and dedicated to the company. I also believe in what we are sell and our customers deserve the best service. Selling life insurance, an intangible product, is not easy, but is much needed. Most of our sales agents are dedicated and partner in with other departments to ensure our clients get what they deserve. Most upper management members are great listeners and do genuinely care. The naysayers and complainers are usually ones who are not willing to work long hours or go above and beyond. Stop being a clock watcher and make a difference by making positive contributions.

Cons

Our 401k is not the most attractive but glad we have one. Fostering teamwork in all departments is much needed and it takes all departments to maintain a successful company and unfortunately, teamwork is not our strength currently.
