Pros

- The training was excellent and all the trainers/training managers were awesome. - Good benefits

Cons

- The leads they use are so low intent that much of your day to day success will depend on "luck of the draw" on what calls you get. - One of the reasons for this is they use underhanded, bait and switch tactics to acquire a lot of these leads. (i.e. - People filling out job applications that some how get sent to a mandatory page they must fill out to continue, even though they don't, in any way, fit the criteria for folks we want to talk to)You'll spend hours calling 30 y/os during AEP who don't and cant even get Medicare. - I had a meeting with my manager where I asked for clear guidelines/metrics I needed to hit in order to move up to the higher tier sales pod. I not only hit those marks, but exceeded them. When the day came for SDAs to be moved up or down, I stayed put. When I asked why I wasn't moved up, I was told "We would talk about it later" which never happened. Promotions appear to be based on pulling names out of a hat - The schedules they assign show that you are nothing but a work horse to them. They make you work for 7 hours before taking your 1 hour break at 4, 5 or even 6 pm. - You are consistently put in positions to fail, instead of being in a position to succeed. - They don't have enough agents and you, as the SDA get punished if you get someone to agree to the transfer but there are no agents available. Example - If you have 5 people agree to transfer, but have to schedule 5 callbacks because there are no agents available, your metrics show you as having 0/5 transfers which negatively impacts your conversion % and your earning potential. Strange that only one person gets punished for the company's internal logistics issues. You will even field some of these scheduled callbacks for an easy transfer, only for there not to be an available agent. So you have to schedule another call back, cant make this up

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate and value your input as an employee. We are glad you think highly of our Training team and enjoy our benefits. We are committed to creating a comfortable, transparent, and collaborative environment for all employees so we are disappointed to hear about your experiences. As for leads, please note that all leads we call have expressed interest in discussing Medicare options. There are also multiple products and services our advisors can sell on their calls and all leveling is based on metrics and performance. Additionally, all SDAs can take breaks whenever they want as long as they meet availability requirements. Lunch breaks are coordinated to ensure business needs are met, but no employee has to wait 7 hours for their lunch. The latest lunch for an 8am start time is 2pm, and that is only during the annual enrollment period (7 weeks). Our intention is to make SelectQuote the best place you’ve ever worked! Thank you again for your insight and for all that you do. - SelectQuote Careers

Pros

WFH! Medical benefits are decent. Training team is wonderful. Definitely worked with a few amazing agents and management...(some of which are gone now).

Cons

I was really excited about this job and helping those that really needed us agents. I felt there was mutual support in the beginning to help our Medicare clients. Unfortunately, third AEP and they have taken a turn for the worse. There are several amazing managers and colleagues I have met. However, I believe the values, morals, and integrity of the company no longer aligns with mine. The “top agents” (not morally sound) are often more celebrated and compensated, not to mention, they get away with breaking MULTIPLE CMS regulations and are often celebrated for doing so. There are amazing top agents that kill it without ruining their clients insurance. Many of the “non-compliant” agents at the top have lost several carrier appointments as well due to not being compliant and then go on free trips with the company. The company is a business, they care about the bottom dollar. You are a number and the clients are numbers as well. Not humans. Again, there have been many leaders, agents, etc that have been absolutely amazing. However, if you have empathy, values, or morals, look elsewhere. They want a robot. It is severely micromanaged and the metrics change often, pay changes often, expectations change often and all of those metrics are able to be changed by leadership as well. (Yes, falsified pay metrics and falsified metrics) If you choose to ignore my review and work here anyways, document everything and send to your private email. Then be prepared that even if you have everything documented they will fill you with some cliche “leadership lingo” to bypass factual proof. I wish this company would’ve remained like they once were. I was once proud to work here. I have tried interviewing with other companies and they refuse to hire anyone that has worked here because of their immoral practices. Again, not all fit this. There are amazing people, managers, and agents that I worked with. This goes way above those individuals pay grade unfortunately.
