Pros

Good employee Benefit, Good pay, Good work life balance, On time Salary

Cons

I am writing my genuine review of Semtech bhubaneswar after working for 8months as a SAP Basis consultant. >Semtech US is very good company and its doing very well in the semiconducter Industry. But Semtech Bhubaneswar is very bad place to work. >Internal politics is at peak and all old employees those are working since above 5years in semtech want super power. >In Bhubaneswar center, they have group of 7-10 employee those are working with the organization since last 10years,doing dirty politics and they don't allow new employees to stay for long time(at least 1year). >Whatever experience you have ,they will put under those donkeys who are working in semtech for long time. They are the decider and they will assign you end user kind of work ,so that you will not stay for long time. Also internal politics is at peak, They will speak with you very well but in the background they will create plan for you to leave the organization. >Dont join if you are getting opportunity in SAP(any domain: Basis, BW most critical) >You will not feel safe till you are in Semtech bhubaneswar. >Management is aware about this activity, cannot take any action against them

Pros

Really interesting work and great opportunity to progress technically. Great people. Some great leaders and mentors (I was blessed) who I'll always be grateful for. Learned a crap tonne.

Cons

Can be high stress come tapeout time, but I get the impression it's better than the industry norm. Salary was sadly low, at least when I was there. I regretted not pushing harder for more. So that's partly on me. Don't undervalue yourself in the offer/negotiation.

Pros

Descent pay, flexible time off, ability to work independently with little micromanagement

Cons

No vision for IoT, lack of strategic thinking, no innovation. Very much quarter to quarter, "sell what's on the shelf" mindset. Travel approvals requires an act of congress. Company does not take into account skillsets of employees, you are assigned a job and you either swim or sink, management will not coach and guide you.

Pros

I have to say the experience has been everything I hoped for. The hiring process was straightforward and well-organized – communication was clear throughout, the interviewers were respectful of my time, and I always knew where I stood in the process. It never felt like I was left in the dark. Once I started, the onboarding was welcoming and the team made me feel like part of the group right away. My manager and senior management team has been genuinely supportive – open to questions, provides clear direction, and actually listens. There's a real culture of collaboration here where people are willing to help each other out. Semtech works on cutting-edge technology and it shows in the caliber of the people here. I'm excited to be part of Semtech and come to work. Highly recommend for anyone considering making a move.

Cons

I have nothing to criticize

Pros

Promotes a good work life balance and has a good shutdown time around the holidays.

Cons

In the entire duration of my time working here only 2 people (literally only 2) spoke to me, and it was 98% over email, which sets you up for failure. No feedback for management so they can do whatever they want. Was hired for entry level but was expected to have years of institutional knowledge. Lack of enough coaching especially when you are new to the company.

Pros

Interesting router hardware technology. Some good engineers.

Cons

In a nutshell, poor compensation, career opportunities, and quality of life. No end in sight. The Semtech acquisition of Sierra Wireless destroyed both companies. What remains is a hot mess and it's getting worse, not better. Leadership is not aligned with the actual company. Leaders chase an idealistic vision while the company is collapsing beneath them. It's the elephant in the room leadership will not address openly. Reorganization is frequent. Six CEO's in five years. Dysfunctional and neglegent management. Issues range from ignorance and incompetence, to bullying and abuse of power. Leadership does not monitor, let alone address, rampant management level issues. There are some good managers, but not enough to overcome the larger issues. Management heavy, yet lacking organization and oversight. Management problems are ignored by leadership. Employees are left to suffer endlessly under bad managers and interdepartmental politics. Toxic work environment. Low morale. Nobody listens. Nobody cares. Complaints are not actioned, or escalated appropriately. No respect for decent engineering practices. Ignorant, hasty, and selfish decision making is common. Endless future of technical debt and low quality work arounds. Outsourcing is the name of the game. Multiple departments have been downsized or eliminated and replaced by cheaper overseas labour. Dysfunction grows with time zone differences and language barriers. Those that remain are rewarded with broken projects and angry stakeholders. Employees that remain can be expected to attend business calls on their personal time, very early, or very late, depending on which timezone you have to cope with. Discriminitory return to work policy. If you happen to live within an arbitrary distance, you get rewarded with the burden of commuting three times a week to sit amongst angry people. Those that live on the outside of the imaginary line are exempt from return to work. Exempt staff often gloat and laugh at your burden on conference calls, including managers that should be curbing such behaviour. Poor compensation. No raise or bonus company wide for the last three years. No end in sight. Incentive program depends on company performance, which has been poor for years and not improving. No career development or recognition. Many staff overdue for promotion, for years. Just the daily grind for the same old pay check.

Pros

They provided good corporate knowledge of basic Semiconductor manufacturing processes, if you are looking to apply to manufacturing side.

Cons

Promotion rate is slow. I received a one dollar raise after six months, granted that isn't that long of a time.
