Pros

Entire company is closed one day a month for either a holiday or "wellness day" Work remotely Work with people from Indiana and get to learn about their culture, which I found interesting Training team/onboarding was great

Cons

Severe micro-managing They don't see you as a person, just a number on a spread sheet No women in leadership, a very "bro" environment Pay is average at best, they do not believe in raises Do not promote from within, no pathway for BDRs to be anything but a BDR BDR Director can dish it out but can't take it when it comes to feedback or criticism Expected to make 70+ calls daily and get 10+ meetings weekly/ unrealistic expectations Emphasis on quantity, not quality OTE is a total joke, no one on team consistently hits quota Pointless, repetitive meetings Product is not a good market fit

Pros

Ability to set your own schedule

Cons

Inconsistent, no real strategy except sell more. Head of sales is inconsistent and doesn't know how to lead a team in a motivating way. Sales have been down, no one is hitting quota and they do nothing to make it attainable. Claw backs equal to initial commission on corporate and enterprise deals if an account doesn't renew after initial contract. (ie, getting a claw back 2 years later when they don't renew). No one on my team hit their quota last year or the year before, really demotivating. Ask for feedback on culture in surveys and do nothing with that information. Product team is much better - Sales and support are struggling.

Hello and thank you for your posting and feedback. Responding here to let you know I've spoken with our Head of Sales about your thoughts and we recognize your concerns. Positive changes such as our wellness days, making time to connect virtually, efficient process changes and more have stemmed out of survey data (which is reviewed in depth with the Sales leaders and People Experience team quarterly). Regarding your Sales feedback, we have changed quotas, incentive plans and terms to be commensurate with the changing market in the last couple years and do recognize it's a challenging environment - your insights are valid. As a current employee, I extend an invite for you to come speak with me directly and your anonymity will remain as such. We can further discuss constructive changes to make your employee experience better.

Pros

Good products. Remote work. Talented employees.

Cons

High Turnover. They offer unlimited PTO, but workloads are so heavy it’s almost impossible to find any time you can take off. Most Start-ups who implement an unlimited PTO plan know most employees will be afraid to take too much time off, and they won’t have to pay pto money out upon termination. If you find work life balance here, you won’t find it in the sales department. Software stack is largely unintegrated which requires duplicate efforts. The environment is sink or swim, highly stressful, and unrewarding. Salary isn't great but not terrible, and no 401k match.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and experience at Sense. We aim to have a flexible PTO program and company closure 'Wellness Days' to counter any levels of stress that come with a high-growth and environment. At Sense we value the well being of the team with remote work, flexible schedules, and ability to work on a timeline that suits your home life too. We are evaluating new hiring assessment tools as well as making the interview process more streamlined. I have shared your feedback with our leadership team and am open to additional context as well if you'd like to reach out.
