Sensient is a fast paced, structured environment where innovation and continual improvements are not only supported but sought after. It’s cross functional teams allow them to make huge improvements from work flow to processing to business decisions. If you are self motivated and driven this is the environment for you. I enjoy working for a team that focuses on being a world leader and allows you to direct your own path. They not only take care of their employees and customers w leading processes and plans, they are socially responsible with their agricultural and supply chain programs. I have learned a tremendous amount in the last 10 yrs and am excited about our future.

Cons

No cons from my experiences. All jobs have ups and downs.

Pros

Great opportunities to develop oneself if you're up for it. It is demanding. You are expected to know your job and contribute, so any person more passive in nature will probably not do well. Taking initiative is encouraged and any/every action is always results-driven. Development-wise, there are always opportunities to relocate, to move to different company divisions or to different departments within a division; on the other hand, if you are comfortable in a certain position you can grow your expertise there, as long as you continue to do what is expected of you. The company also has an ongoing High Potential Employee program. Core, non-negotiable values: 1) Be honest, 2) never compromise on quality, 3) behave and dress professionally.

Cons

There is an historical negative perception, in some cases with reason; however, having witnessed changes from within, I believe the company is heading in the right direction. There will always be things to improve. As results are expected, some people might feel intimidated, so that might be perceived as negative. I don't agree with that. If you're a high-performer you'll do well.

1) BioNutrients division has excellent upper management - 90% right and always honest about failures and successes. Willing to take failures as "lessons learned" 2) Opportunities for individuals to have an impact on a growing business - production, quality, engineering, new product development/R&D, logistics and finance. 3) Held with high respect by other divisions of Sensient. Sensient is large, diverse flavors, colors, and fragrances company utilizing many technologies for many products. BioNutrients frequently gets tapped to "beta" new tools and processes. 4) Solid team that is blending the lessons learned in past years with new ways of doing business. Innovative, but not chaotic. 5) Corporate management provides necessary resources. Corp recognizes value of business unit and is willing to invest people, time, and money to helping the team succeed.

Cons

1) Has been difficult to grow professonally beyond a single manufacturing location to take on new responsibilities or new business units. This is slowly changing. 2) Manufacturing locations are a bit remote, often requiring 30-45 min commute from suburban areas.
