Pros

The ground level team is wonderful. All really kind, and make you feel like their family. Pay and benefits are decent.

Cons

Lots of favoritism and bureaucracy. People gain authority by way of brown-nosing rather than actual competency. Huge lack of communication/transparency, and the communication that is present is wildly inconsistent, unclear, & condescending. Zero work-life balance. Overtime is the rule, rather than the exception. Many people work 8 hours on Sundays or take their computer home after the 9-5 and work late. The team averages at least 50 hour weeks. Your mental well-being and energy levels get totally zapped. Zero support or advocacy. Management takes no accountability for their role and will let you flounder. They will find a way to blame you for issues caused by high volumes, global supply chain chaos, and staffing shortages - which breeds a massive amount of toxicity in the work environment. You are not appreciated or recognized. There are subtle reprecussions for voicing your concerns or advocating for yourself, your teammates, or your values. The unspoken expectation is to sit quietly, take your lashings, and do what you're told. Micromanagement. Very rigid and very corporate. Antiquated dress code, little flexibility for remote work. They are not up-to-speed with the times. Due to all of the above, it is really hard to keep the place properly staffed. This leads to unreasonable expectations from upper management for people to sometimes take on the workload of 2 or more full-time employees. No flexibility in PTO. They basically tell you when you can take time off due to a complex calendar that reinforces the fact that the team does not have enough coverage.

Unprofessional Workplace

Pros

Proximity to my home, snacks & drinks provided

Cons

Company claims to be “professional”, but that term only refers to the dress code. I feel like I am in high school, with all of the cliques and gossip, outsiders are not welcome and long term employees make that known! They promote from within, but sometimes that is a detriment to the company as individuals are promoted based on friendship rather than qualifications. The company 401K match is decent at 4%, but don’t be fooled, they only give you that match in the January of the following year, so if you leave the company before the year ends - no match!

Pros

good pay for the job

Cons

Plant has gone through 3 plant managers in 5 years. And company rewards incompetence: a) FIrst guy got promoted to a different division and he sucked b) Second guy got moved to a different plant and he has seen one too many war movies. He was a micromanager with a superiority complex (seen it all, done it all,, know it all). c) Hope the third guy is better d) The second guy had his cliques and that was it. e) The evil little drill Sargent was eyeballing for the union steward and was trying to get him fired. He was absolutely horrible, good thing he is gone!
