Pros

Sephora employees are expected, much like most retail companies, to follow rules blindly. The different with Sephora is that they have the rules located in a dusty old computer file that no one knows how to access because they’re all ancient and haven’t worked anywhere else in the last 30 years. I’ll be honest, it was the slowest paced retail organization I’ve ever worked at. This can be a pro or a con depending on your outlook.

Pros

Gratis, Training, and store discount. Lot's of ways to connect with other brands and learn a lot through representatives.

Cons

Room for growth is negated by petty store politics. Asked to do more than job requires for a minimum base pay.

Pros

I met a bunch of great people working at Sephora, and for the most part had a great staff to work with.

Cons

However, I was hired as a seasonal temp in June (?) so that the company did not have to give me gratis & other perks. It’s fine because I am networking & gaining experience, but I have learned not to ever let this job stress me out. Plus the hours are super intense.
