Pros

Salary ok and the benefits are good

Cons

Abusive management, national DOT rules broken. Septa functions on the needs of the authority by any means necessary, which mean DOT violations, putting passenger safety at risk. Most manager positions are filled by people that are insecure in their positions that causes weak leadership. Favoritism for positions are the norm which put inept people in high places.

Pros

Good benefits. Salary is below average. Free bus and train pass. They have random drug testing which weeds out drug addicts.

Cons

Ive never seen a place spend so much time trying to fire the same people they just hired. Quality doesnt matter. Get the job done in the alloted time even if its wrong. The bosses the hire and promote are never qualified for the job. Biggest mistake was excepting this company.

Pros

SEPTA has great company sponsored healthcare benefits. They still have a company sponsored retirment plan and a 457 B plan with a company match of 10%.

Cons

Very poor employee morale. Career advancement is virtually non-existent for all but a "few". Salary administration is arbitrary and inconsistent. Employees are not properly supported in the performance of their duties. You're an expert until they hire you!
