Pros

The people are very nice. Hiring managers are very good at selecting well qualified people to work for the company.

Cons

The pay is well below average, so turnover is very high. As a result, support services provided through the company, such as travel, are frustrating and processes take way too long.

Pros

The company has a great reputation and is known worldwide for it's massive connection with governmental employment opportunities. Serco-NA operates in all types of service related jobs that support the military community, both soldiers and their families. The positions are located in high profile areas of the department of defense. The corporate policy for personal and professional development strongly emphasizes career growth & progression. The company has a very diverse collection of personnel, work environments, and benefits. The even offer pet insurance and pre-paid legal assistnace. At the corporate level, there is a reward system based on merit and job performance. The company takes great effort in keeping it's employees informed and engaged in it's day-to-day operations. For example if an employee comes up with a better way of doing something, they become eligible for recognition and even money awards. The home office actually solicts input from the employees in the field servicing customers and puts the information to use. It's great to know that your efforts are important to such a large organization.

Cons

The immediate supervisor doesn't take a stand on issue that effect local workers. The centralized management environment stifles innovation and motivation. The corporate atmosphere that foster growth and development doesn't make it to down to immediate supervisor. I've actually been told by my supervisor that he wouldn't allow me to take a course that may put me in position for a better job. Apparently, he doesn't check the corporate newsletters and online portal that lists thoes that obtain additional certifications and designations. It would be great if actual training took place in additon to the database slideshows. My work with clients happens in person and I believe the training should fit what we actually do everyday. This is another example of how the centralized management impedes productivity.

Pros

1. Flexible work schedule but this appears to be fading fast. 2. 401k match is decent as company matches up to certain amount.

Cons

1. Management style is crabs in a basket; 2. Management (most) lack professionalism and lack elementary people skills 3. Those who do the work are often not rewarded, while those who slack are promoted 4. No incentive for growth; one hits the glass ceiling within one year 5. Managers micro-manage 6. Low work morale 7. Project managers are not qualified and have no clue how to manage a project 8. 98% of the benefits suck and are reduced every year but there is little pay increase 9. Unethical policies and employees run rampant but the company presents different view to it's client 10. Employees are not rewarded/acknowledged for going above and beyond
